He informed that the carpet cluster at Bhadohi has been constructed by the Bhadohi Industrial Development Authority (Bida). In this cluster, plastic backing will be provided to make the carpet more attractive and durable. This will enable small entrepreneurs to avail this facility at a reasonable price. In addition, state-of-the-art arrangements for training for carpet weavers have also been ensured in CFC.
Dr. Sehgal informed that in the same way the process of handing over the Carpet Expo Mart to the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) has been started and a meeting in this regard will also be organized in Bhadohi on September 06. has been done. This Expo Mart is constructed by Uttar Pradesh State Construction Corporation. There are 94 shops built in this mart. These will be allotted to carpet makers. This mart is fully air conditioned. While the formation of this mart will encourage the carpet industry, foreigners will be able to get all the necessary information related to purchasing carpet under one roof.
The Principal Secretary informed that national and international exhibitions will also be organized from time to time at the Expo Mart to give global recognition to Bhadohi’s carpet and promote exports. This will facilitate carpet producers and exporters to export. He informed that the state government has made arrangements to solve the problems of carpet entrepreneurs on priority.
