UP Gov 10 % Plans Relief Package for Exporters Hit by Trump Tariffs

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing a relief package to support exporters affected by the additional import tariffs imposed by the United States. The plan aims to provide temporary financial assistance until the tariff situation normalizes.Under the proposal, exporters will receive 10% financial aid of their total export value to the US. This support will be provided for a period of six months, with a condition that the scheme will automatically discontinue once the tariffs are removed.According to officials, a high-level agreement has already been reached, and the proposal will soon be placed before the state cabinet for approval.The move comes after the United States imposed a 25% additional tariff on various Indian products, which has adversely impacted export businesses, particularly those struggling to recover production costs. While the Central government has already reduced the GST rates to help domestic industries, the state government is working to ensure relief at its level as well.Exporters Welcomed the AnnouncementChief Minister Yogi Adityanath had hinted at the relief measure earlier during a meeting with carpet exporters.
