Preparations to bring a package of 22.5 billion for exporters

Bloomberg report… Government can give loan at cheap interest without guarantee to exporters affected by tariff
New Delhi. The government has planned to bring a comprehensive relief package to help exporters affected by 50 percent US tariff. According to Bloomberg report, this relief package can be of Rs 22.5 billion (255 million dollars).According to the report, under this package of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, loans can be given to the affected exporters at concessional interest rates without any guarantee. However, the governmentRevenue of shrimp exporters may decrease by 12 percentIndia Ratings and Research said in a report, due to US tariff, the revenue of shrimp exporters may decrease by 12 percent on an annual basis in 2025-26. At the same time, the margin may fall by 150 basis points. America is India’s most important market for shrimp exports. It has a share of up to 48 percent in terms of value and volume. No official information has been given about this possible package yet. The report quoted sources as saying that the Union Cabinet may approve this relief package plan this week or in the coming days. This package will be financed from the funds already allocated for export promotion in the Union Budget 2025-26 presented in February. According to the report, labor-intensive sectors such as textiles, gems and jewelery, leather, footwear, chemicals, engineering goods, marine exports and agriculture are most at risk due to high US tariffs. These are the sectors which employ a large number of people. Their ability to compete is decreasing due to heavy tariffs. Production is being affected due to cancellation of orders, which may affect employment. In such a situation, the government may soon announce a comprehensive relief package for these affected sectors.
