Cepc mumbai fair start to day

mumbai, 7th November, 2019 : A first in Mumbai, the Exhibition cum Sale of Indian Handmade Carpets well-known as India Carpet Expo was today inaugurated by Shri Siddh Nath Singh – Chairman of Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) at Nehru Centre, Worli in Mumbai.

Exhibition will be on daily 7th to 10th November 2019 from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. A four day long Carpets Expo the first such exhibition in Mumbai is showcasing a variety in regions representing their art and craft in carpet weaving like Bhadohi – Mirzapur – Agra – Panipat – Jaipur – Kashmir and other regions like Gwalior, Kerala & West Bengal.

During the show the product will be displayed which are made of natural fibres of Natural Silk , Bamboo Silk, Wool, Jute, Hemp and Coir. The Types of Carpets on display will include Hand knotted Silk carpet, Woollen Carpets, Persian and Modern Carpet, Handmade Woollen/Cotton Durries and other natural fibre carpets.

Along with Members of Committee of Administration of CEPC who graced the inauguration occasion in Mumbai include Mr Umer Hameed – 2nd Vice Chairman, CEPC, Mr Abdul Rub –Mr Onkar Nath Mishra, Mr Rajendra Prasad Misra, Mr Ram Maurya, Mr Umesh Kumar Gupta, Mr Gulam Nabi Bhat, Mr Satish Wattal, Mr Shaikh Ashiq Ahmed, Mr Husain Jafar Husaini, Mr Bodh Raj Malhotra, Mr Feroze Waziri, Mr Sanjay Kumar Gupta and Mr Sandeep Kataria.

While addressing the media after inauguration today Mr Siddh Nath Singh – Chairman of CEPC said “We are pleased to organise Indian Carpets Expo for the first time in Mumbai Financial Capital of the country. Besides awareness and promotion of the carpets, we through this exhibition are looking forward to correcting the perception about the carpets in the minds of people in Mumbai.
The delegations and buyers from many countries are expected to visit this expo for their bulk requirements”. This exhibition is under the aegis of Government of India with an aim to promote the cultural heritage and weaving skills of artisans crafting the carpets and other floor coverings amongst the Mumbaikers, local and visiting overseas buyers. It is an ideal platform for International Carpet Buyers, Buying Houses, Buying agents, Architects and Indian Carpet

Manufacturers and Exporters to meet, strike business deals and establish long term business relationship. With our debut in Mumbai city we are sure the people in Mumbai with the good taste in their lifestyle will fall in love with the skilled work of Indian artisans on display thereby helping in revival of the carpet culture in residences and commercial premises in Mumbai”.

Sanjay Kumar – Executive Director of CEPC informed that “Government is dedicated for promotion of Indian handmade Carpet which has unique identity worldwide and assured all kind support to exporters. He further informed that exporters are so excited after getting wonderful response one first day that they requested for fixing the date & venue booking for the  next show.

In spite of working day approx 200 people visited and purchased the carpets and expecting extraordinary response on comming weekend  on Saturday and Sunday.
