Carpet Export Promotion Council is organizing the 35th Edition of India Carpet Expo from 8th to 11th March 2018 in NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla, New Delhi under the aegis of Govt. of India with an aim to promote the Cultural Heritage and weaving skills of Indian hand-made Carpets and other floor coverings amongst the visiting overseas carpet buyers. “India carpet expo is an ideal platform for International Carpet Buyers, Buying houses, buying Agents, Architects and Indian Carpet Manufacturers & Exporters to meet and establish long term business relationship.
India Carpet Expo is one of the largest Handmade Carpet Fairs in Asia with a unique platform for the buyers to source the best handmade carpets, Rugs and other floor coverings under one roof. It has become a popular destination worldwide on Handmade Carpets. India’s unique capability in adapting to any type of design, colour, quality & size as per the specifications of the carpet buyers has made it a household name in International market.
India Carpet Expo will be inaugurated on 8th March 2018 at 10.00 A.M. by Shri Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India in the august presence of Shri Haseeb Ahmed Drabu, Hon’ble Minister Finance, Culture and Labour & Employment, Jammu & Kashmir and Dr. Anant Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary (Textiles), & Shri Shantmanu, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and other Senior Govt. Officials from the Central and State Governments beside representat
ives from Trade and Media.
India Carpet Expo has received overwhelming response from the Member Exporters and 258 exhibitors are displaying their products in the show. Over the years, the India Carpet Expo has established itself as a great sourcing platform for the carpet buyers from all over the globe. Around 350 Carpet importers from 60 countries mainly from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, U.K., USA etc. have registered themselves for attending the Expo. It would be worthwhile to mention that buyers from new countries like Bulgaria, Israel, Malaysia, Mauritius, Taiwan, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Serbia, Hungary are also attending the Mega Expo. Carpet Export Promotion Council is
not only inviting and incentivizing the wholesale buyers but is also providing a 2 nights’ complimentary stay in hotel at New Delhi for attending India Carpet Expo.
Chairman, CEPC Mr. Mahavir Pratap Sharma stated that. “We are envisaging a business generation of 300 to 400 Crores and also potential enquires worth 800-1000 crores. Specially with our new relationship and possibilities into CHINA.”
