New Delhi, 11th March, The 37th Edition of India Carpet Expo, Organized by Carpet Export Promotion Council at NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla, New Delhi, has received overwhelming response from 233 overseas buyers from across the world in the two day of the Expo with presence of 210 Buying representatives . India Carpet Expo “Showcasing new Fall-winter collection, as per the buyers’ requirements in terms of size, design, colour and quality which is grabbing the interest of the buyers.
Today a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Shri Raghvendra Singh, IAS, Secretary (Textiles), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India along with Shri Shantmanu, IAS, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and Secretary Textiles has assured for necessary action for inclusion of ROSL (Rebate on State Levies) benefit to Handmade Carpet Industry.
Shri Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Chairman, CEPC informed that Secretary (Textiles) assured for suitable action so that Carpet Industry may be included for ROSL benefit.
The Expo is organized under the aegis of Govt. of India focuses on the Highly Labour Intensive Indian Handmade Carpet Industry and aims to provide employment to about 20 Lakhs workers/ artisans especially women directly or indirectly in the rural areas. With the participation of 226 exhibitors, India Carpet Expo is one of the largest Handmade Carpet Fairs in Asia with a unique platform for the buyers to source the best handmade carpets, Rugs and other floor coverings under one roof.
